For some reason every year we have to go to the Snowflake and St. Johns 24th of July celebrations. This year there were on separate weekends, so we really got to enjoy both without feeling pressure to be one place or the other. It was nice. We decided we did not want to go to Snowflake, come home and then drive back to St. Johns the next weekend (plus the weekend before this we were in Snowflake for Brian) so Justin took the week off work. This year in Snowflake we did not do much for the 24th except hang out with family (although in my opinion that is the best). Here is a list of what we did (for my memory, really)
- Watched Cheree play softball
- Helped finish the best float ever for the parade. I am sad I did not get a picture of it, what was I thinking
- Enjoyed the parade
- Of course, the boys enjoyed golfing
- watched amazing rain storms
The week in between the two celebrations Justin and I were able to attend a temple session, thanks to Chelsea for watching Emery. Justin also talked me into going golfing with him. Actually we had a little incident with finger nail polish, not good, and I thought it would be good if we "fell in love again" so I told him I would go golfing. How romantic, right? I played every sport growing up, except golfing. Justin was a great coach and I am glad to report I love him even more now! Other than that we enjoyed being away from our busy life for a few days.
The St. Johns celebrations followed Snowflakes celebration. We missed having Shane and Jenn there this year, as Shane is serving in Afghanistan. It just wasn't the same not having them there and playing in the dance. In fact Justin and I did not even go to the dances. Here is what we did instead.
- Enjoyed FREE icecream at the icecream social (Justin thinks it's the greatest thing ever)
- Watched the rodeos
- Ate buttermilk pancakes, yummy!
- Enjoyed the parade
- Justin went to the magic show (I think it almost topped the FREE icecream, yes I am raising two kids around here:)

Your yard makes me jealous (going on five years with our dirt/weed patch of land), you look great and Emery is just getting cuter.
